GovBite was built by Matthias Jaime, a technology and policy leader with more than a decade of government experience. His career has focused on closing the gap between new technology and the public institutions that have to adopt it.
As Deputy Secretary of Technology & Innovation for California's Government Operations Agency, he led the implementation of the governor's executive order on generative AI. Matthias also served as the Director of San Francisco's Committee on Information Technology where he oversaw the city's technology portfolio, stood up the Digital Services team, and led policy development for various emerging technology initiatives.
GovBite grew out of that experience — a proof of concept for what's now possible when emerging technology is aimed squarely at a real problem. Small advocacy teams are priced out of the tools that could help them keep up with legislation, so GovBite uses AI to let a small team cover far more ground. Built in the spirit of solving genuine problems with new technology while keeping strong safeguards in place.
